Guerrilla artist Banksy, who gained international attention after he hacked the MoMA and the Met, set his sights on a new target — Paris Hilton. At HMV and Virgin Megastores around the UK Banksy replaced Hilton’s CD with his own remixes and given them titles such as Why am I Famous?, What Have I Done? and What Am I For? But it didn’t stop there. The picture on the CD cover was changed to show Paris topless, and the images in the insert were also modified. Over 500 copies of the CD were distributed deposited in 48 record stores. The original barcode was left in tact so that customers would have little to no idea that the CD had been tampered with.
Spokespeople for various stores have said that no customers that they are aware of have complained or returned the doctored CD. This stunt just might explain how Paris’ CD managed to climb to #29 on the UK charts.
Sorry guys, Victoria Beckham hasn’t dumped David Beckham, but David did receive the boot from England’s new soccer football manager, Steve McClaren. When McClaren revealed the roster for his first team to play against Greece in a friendly match, Beckham’s name was missing from the list. According to McClaren, I told David I was looking to change things, looking to go in a different direction, and he wasn’t included within that. Beckham, who plays midfield for Real Madrid, understands McClaren’s decision, but hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of future international competitions.

This latest ban was implemented after British Officials announced Thursday that they had thwarted a terrorist plot to ignite liquid based explosives aboard several planes travelling from the UK to NY.
After the announcement that British officials had thwarted a plot to blow up airliners using explosives smuggled in carry-on luggage, heightened security measures were quickly put into place; including a ban on all gadgets on flights originating from the UK to NY. British Airways, along with other airlines, have notified passengers that no electrical or battery powered items including laptops, mobile phones, iPods, remote controls and electronic key fobs can be carried in the cabin and must be checked in as hold baggage. There has been no official word as to how long this ban will remain in effect.
