Us Weekly is reporting that Jennifer Garner has given birth to a baby girl, Violet Affleck.

Sources confirm to Us that Garner, whose due date was December 8, had her labor induced at an L.A. hospital. The actress is married to Ben Affleck, 33. ‘’They induced last night,'’ a friend of the couple tells Us. ‘’Ben was with her the entire time.'’ Last night, when asked by Us when Garner would be giving birth, Garner’s Alias co-star Joel Grey said ‘’tonight.'’ Another one of Garner’s co-stars and close friends, Victor Garber, (who officiated the pair’s intimate sunset wedding ceremony on the isle of Turks and Caicos on June 29), told Us last night, ‘’My gift will be that I will be a doting uncle.'’ The pair were planning on naming the baby girl Violet. When Garner had her October 23 baby shower, guests made sure to give the soon-to-be parents many purple gifts. When contacted by Us, a rep for Garner wouldn’t confirm nor deny news of the birth. A rep for Affleck could not be reached.

Off to a late start, so here’s a quick round-up.

• Jessica Simpson, after religiously following the South Beach Diet and sticking to a gruelling butt-tightening exercise workout, has admitted that she is allowing herself to have a few treats now that her movie has finished. She confesses that she has “cheat days now when I go to the movies and eat a bag of Peanut M&Ms.” Good gawd, a whole bag?! She should be locked up.
• Alias star Jennifer Garner has revealed that she and her sisters call their boobs biscuits. According to her, “Sometimes when I’m on the Alias set and the guys are setting up a camera shot, I’ll ask, ‘Is this a biscuit shot’ and they’ll say, ‘Yeah,’ so I’ll know.” That kinda gives a whole new meaning to biscuits and gravy.
• In a recent Cosmo questionnaire, goddess of the silver screen Scarlett Johansson has admitted that she thinks Woody Allen is the sexiest man in Hollywood. She also thinks “sex is appropriate on the first date, her favourite body part is her feet and she feels sexiest in ‘a man’s shirt’.” Scarlett lusts for Woody?
• Singer/actress (or actress/singer?) Hilary Duff is speaking out against looking sexy. She has called Jessica Simpson and Briney Spears immature and warned that they will regret their sexy on-stage antics. She doesn’t feel that “taking your clothes off or going out and getting wasted every night is a sign of maturity”. This all coming from someone who isn’t even 18 yet. She’s just upset that she now has bigger teeth than a walrus.
• Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria said she barely found the courage to wear a barely-there tangerine bikini on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards. She recalls that she had a nervous episode backstage just before stepping out and that her stylist had to push her out while her girlfriends were cheering her on — “it was (the outfit) classy and beautiful and looks almost like a dress - if you just put the bottom on… I was visually vulnerable.” Pictures of her in a bikini have been plastered around the interwebnet and she’s just getting concerned now?
• Katie Holmes has expressed the desire to play fashion designer and design the wedding dress of her dreams. The star who has graced many a magazine cover is “already browsing through fashion magazines in search for the inspiration for that perfect wedding dress.” Katie, really, it’s not too late. Escape while you still can, we’ll all understand.
• Meanwhile, singer turned fashion designer Gwen Stefani has come into her own. She will showcase her range of designs at the New York Fashion Week. Her plan is to “unveil the floral designs for her spring 2006 L.A.M.B. collection on the ramp as part of her first major fashion show.” She has expressed concern over the show, but has also remarked, “I’m not being treated like a celebrity wannabe fashion designer.” Perhaps Katie should ask Gwen to design her dress.
• And finally, Heidi Klum has said that her two legs are worth £2.2 million (€3.18 million, $3.95 million). Her employer insured them after a London auction house estimated their value. Should she choose to sell them, “she’d probably get less for one of them because of a small scar from a fall.” Actually, I think they’d be worthless without the rest of her attached to them, naked, but that’s just me.

From the rumored death of Michael Vartan’s character, to the addition of Rachel Nichols, very little truth is actually known about the upcoming season of Alias. One thing, however, has just been officially announced. In what appears to be an attempt to keep Jennifer Garner in front of the camera, her character, Sydney Bristow, will be pregnant in the next season. According to MSNBC, “ABC has announced that Garner’s character will also be expecting a baby.” How they plan to work that into the storyline remains to be seen.

In what may end up being a futile attempt, fans of Alias star Michael Vartan are campaigning to resurrect his character after they learned he was killed off in the upcoming season.

Now comes word from an insider that Aug. 17 was Vartan’s last day of shooting, when he was supposedly killed off. Fans have banded together to create mvcampaign.com to lobby for his resurrection.

One insider said: “Many of Michael’s fans feel he is being treated very poorly by ABC. He has always been a big promoter of the show, not to mention a great guy, and to have him fired in what is probably the last year of the show is unbelievable.”

ABC has been deluged with letters, e-mails and phone calls from the campaign, a network insider moaned, while the campaign is also raising money to place an ad in Variety or the Hollywood Reporter.

Some have speculated that Jennifer Garner has pressured producers to remove Michael from the show due to their past relationship, her recent marriage to Ben Affleck, and amid growing tensions between her and Michael.

According to MSNBC, Britney Spears is no longer having a girl but is having a boy. This is being based on a recent $10,000 shopping spree at Petit Tresor where a source says she was purchasing items for a boy.

Spears had been in the store several weeks ago where she loaded up on items for girls, but says the source, “That must have been a ruse or for someone else. This was definitely for her unborn child.”

A spokeswoman for the store said she could “neither confirm nor deny” the Spears’ shopping spree. But another source backs up the buzz that baby Federline will be a boy: “They’re mulling several names, but the one they favor is Preston.”

Yes, obviously it must have been a “ruse or for someone else” because Britney is tricky like that.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Jennifer Garner is expecting a girl.

It’s definitely going to be a girl for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. At the L.A. premiere of “The Brothers Grimm,” a friend rubbed the “Alias” actress’ belly and asked, “Are you having a boy?” Said Jen: “Guess again” …

It is still unclear whether or not Jennifer Garner will return for the sixth season of Alias, but rumor has it that recent cast addition Rachel Nichols might take over the role.

Meanwhile, Jessica Alba wants to make more money return as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four sequels so badly, that the Sun reports she has come up with a fantastic idea — super kids.

The actress is desperate to reprise her role as sexy superheroine Sue Storm and wants to have super-children with co-star Ioan Gruffudd’s character Reed Richards in a later installment.

She told OK! Magazine: “I think we have to get the Fantasticar - that’d be cool.

“And I think we need some kids, at least by the third one. Sue and Reed should get busy.”

That’s just what every guy on the planet wants to see, Jessica Alba running around with a kid.
