AdJab asks the very fair question — how do we get from the poster on the left, to the DVD cover on the right? It would appear that the marketing folks for Transamerica felt that they could attract more sales with a more attractive Felicty Huffman. They have completely ignored the fact that the movie is about a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual.

In other advertising news, it would appear that nothing is sacred, not even theater. Viewers of Stomp at the Orpheum Theater in the East Village were treated forced to sit through the first ever live commercial. The advertisement, which is itself advertised as the world’s first live theatrical commercial, is a creation of Visit London, a tourist organization. Theater goers, understandably, gave it poor reviews.

Felicity Huffman admitted that she got so into her role as a transsexual in the movie Transamerica that she actually forgot she was a woman.

She said: “Towards the end of filming, I walked into the ladies’ room and went, ‘Wow, I’m not supposed to be here’, and I walked out. Then I said, ‘Oh no, I am,’ and walked back in again. It took me two goes before I said, ‘OK, I’m actually a woman,’ and walked into the ladies’ room.”

Felicity, who wore a prosthetic penis for the film, added: “That was sort of frightening.”

Of course not nearly as frightening as learning that she forgot she was a woman.

In other Felicity news, Desperate Blog found a picture of Felicity looking disturbingly thin at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Apparently she not only forgot she’s a woman, but that she needs to eat … that or she’s trying out Nicole Richie’s miracle diet — who needs to eat food when you can do coke.
