Advertisers continue to deceive us

AdJab asks the very fair question — how do we get from the poster on the left, to the DVD cover on the right? It would appear that the marketing folks for Transamerica felt that they could attract more sales with a more attractive Felicty Huffman. They have completely ignored the fact that the movie is about a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual.

In other advertising news, it would appear that nothing is sacred, not even theater. Viewers of Stomp at the Orpheum Theater in the East Village were treated forced to sit through the first ever live commercial. The advertisement, which is itself advertised as the world’s first live theatrical commercial, is a creation of Visit London, a tourist organization. Theater goers, understandably, gave it poor reviews.
