Vivid, considered to be on the cutting edge of technology in the world of porn, has just made a giant leap into a realm not even Hollywood is prepared to enter. Vivid will be launching a new Burn to DVD service on April 3rd. This service will allow people to download their favorite movies (they are estimating download times to be about an hour), and then burn it to DVD themselves.
“We expect the service to be extremely popular,” says Hirsch. “Just hit the button, download and burn.”
The prices for a DVD by download are the same as a traditional DVD, about $25 per feature, and your homemade DVD sports the same menu system, chapter navigation and any interactive features included with the original. Print the jacket art, add a jewel case and it’s just like the real thing, without a plain brown wrapper or a trip to the store.
The catch is that you’ll only be able to burn the file to a DVD once, thanks to the proprietary burn software included with your purchase.
The service is in cooperation with All Adult Channel (NSFW), which developed the one-time burn application and already offers Vivid content through a pay-per minute stream.
This is just more proof that porn drives technology…
Chevy and The Apprentice teamed up to create a contest where people can make and submit their own commercials for the Tahoe. Somehow, I don’t think this quite what they had in mind.
We paved the prairies
We deforested the hills
We strip-mined out mountains
and sold ourselves for oil
To bring you this beautiful machine
so you can finally drive
to see what’s left of our wilderness
and now that we’re here,
we can’t get you out of the car.
The ultimate padded cell.

What do you get when Google teams up with sport giant Nike? Joga.com.
[T]he community for soccer players dedicated to keeping the game beautiful.
Joga is a place to meet other soccer players, share your own soccer experiences and enjoy photos and videos from around the world.
Join us and help remind the world how the game was meant to be played.
Joga? Yes, that’s a “J” not a “Y”. It is apparently short for “Joga Bonito”, which is Portuguese for “play beautiful”. Joga.com members (read “Google Account holders”) will have access to 3 main areas: Content, where you can create your own personalized page and add pictures, videos, blogs, alerts and messages; Community, where you can create teams, find local fields and play against other Joga teams in your area; and Players, where you can read up all about (surprise) Nike soccer players.
Interesting, very interesting…

Keira Knightley, who just turned 21 this past Sunday, is celebrating her new found freedom of drinking in the States by going on a month long booze cruise with her boyfriend, Rupert Friend.
He is said to have splashed out on a luxury yacht and a jet to take Keira to bars around New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Hollywood and Hawaii.
[Keira Knightley] couldn’t wait to reach the milestone birthday so she could drink alcohol with her pals in the US.
She recently said: “It seems ridiculous. Over here I can drink myself silly.
“But I go back to my adolescence when I’m shooting in America. I’m on the Shirley Temples while my mates are getting pissed.”

Or, she just wants to be like Angelina Jolie. Whatever the case, Jessica has expressed interested in adopting a child.
“Nothing has been finalized yet,” Shuter, who was asked when and how Simpson would adopt, told the Associated Press on Tuesday. He added, “It is true that she’s exploring options.”
The 25-year-old singer-actress, who filed for divorce from Nick Lachey last December, recently told TV’s Extra: “I want to adopt, and I plan to adopt before I have my own kids.
She also said of a particularly well-known adoptive mother, “I think Angelina Jolie has done amazing, amazing things, and the international adoption rate just since her has skyrocketed. It’s unbelievable.”
From rock star to porn star, love the new look. And yes folks, that’s a First Class (looks to be seat 2B, but her thumb is covering it) American Airlines LAX to JFK ticket she’s holding out for the world to see.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
As part of our recent survey, we asked Car Design News readers to vote for their favourite current production car design. The response produced some fascinating results, with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage being voted the clear favourite from over a thousand responses. While other ‘Best Design’ contests are largely made up of votes from journalists, the voters for this survey were mostly automotive designers and students of car design.
Rounding out the Top 10:
1) Aston Martin V8 Vantage
2) Mercedes CLS
3) Aston Martin DB9
4) Bugatti Veyron
5) Lamborghini Gallardo
6) BMW 5 Series
7) Audi TT
8) Alfa Romeo Brera

And I said what about “Breakfast at Tiffany’s?
She said, “I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it.”
And I said, “Well, that’s the one thing we’ve got.”
Charisma Carpenter, best known for her role as Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer has set her sights on the role of Wonder Woman, according to a recent interview with TVGuide.com.
TVGuide.com: Hey, are you going to star in Wonder Woman? What a great fit that would be.
Carpenter: I know! From your lips to God’s ears… or Joss’… or Joel’s….
TVGuide.com: Another baby?
Carpenter: I’d like to eventually, but I want Wonder Woman right now. I’m not holding my breath but I’m crossing my fingers and toes and praying.
With Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy) writing and directing, who knows, Cordy just might make a come back.
