See Google censor

So much for do no evil. There has been considerable discussion made of Google’s decision to censor searches in China, but the Guardian Limited has uncovered visual evidence of this censorship.

As they point out, compare these: a Google.cn image search for ‘tiananmen’ and a Google.com image search for tiananmen. Notice any differences? Hint: Where did all the tanks go?!

For those who do not remember, a pro-democracy protest by Chinese students in Tiananmen Square in 1989 prompted a military response by the government which ended in tragedy when hundreds of protestors were massacred.
