1 in 7 cell phones are bad?
Permalink | August 8th, 2005According to a “Which?” magazine consumer report, a whopping 1 in 7 new cell phones have been found to be faulty. UK video phone opertator 3 had the poorest record with almost 1 in 3 of their handsets having problems. A spokesperson from 3 criticized the reports by saying:
The sample they picked out was only 50 customers. We have three million. It was only 16 who had experienced problems, so we don’t think it is a representative sample
I have to admit, sampling only 50 people out of a customer base in the multi-millions and saying your survey has any merit is extremely presumptious. Goes to show that you can find a survey anywhere to support your point of view … and don’t forget, if you read it on the Interwebnet it must be true!
