Looks like Martha is venturing into the realm of reality TV. She has announced she will starring in an Apprentice wanna-be:

NEW YORK - There won’t be any “You’re fired” death knells sounded when Martha Stewart takes the reins of “The Apprentice” this fall.

The domestic doyenne will find her own way in her own reality series — but she won’t say what it is yet.

The show will spotlight Stewart’s working life and her attempts to find an aide through the TV process pioneered by Donald Trump through two seasons on NBC.

… worldly reader and local heartbreaker Tom sent in two stories yesterday in regards to an injunction that went down yesterday afternoon and will prevent Warner Brothers from releasing the feature version of The Dukes of Hazard, previously due out August 5th. The full public record can be found on the website for the Federal District Court for the Central District of California. The heart of the record says the following:

“Order by Judge Gary A. Feess: granting motion for preliminary injunction. WHEREFORE, IS IT HEREBY ORDERED that … Warner Brothers … (is) preliminarily enjoined during the pendencey of this action from preparing producing, editing, distributing, advertising, exploiting, copying, publishing, or licensing, for theatrical sequels based on or derived from the feature motion picture “Moonrunners”

It costs plenty to live in New York City ? but how much does it cost to live well?

The breadwinner of a Manhattan family of four looking to achieve an affluent lifestyle — not private jets and chauffeured limos, but no public school, either — will have to earn nearly a half-million dollars a year after taxes, according to a survey by forbes.com.

The online survey looked into the expenses of several cities in the Northeast and factored in costs that included housing, education, cars, entertainment and health care to come up with their ballpark figures.

Google Earth

Google has released Google Earth. A standalone application (currently only available on Windows) that mimics the behavior of Google maps with the added ability to view 3D grayscale renderings of city skylines, perform fly-bys, search for points of interest, save searches and measure distances.

Speaking of Google maps, Google very quitely expanded their satellite coverage yesterday to include many parts of Europe. Cool!
